Hunting Land in Texas
Search Available Areas
Located just outside of metropolitan areas like Houston, Huntsville, or Lufkin, Rayonier’s approximately 210,000 acres of prime hunting land can be found in the piney woods of deep east Texas. Being in close proximity to parks like Big Thicket National Preserve, Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge, and Sam Houston National Forest Wildlife Management Area, helps contribute greatly to numbers and variety of wildlife found on our properties. Examples of wildlife include, whitetail deer, eastern wild turkey, wild hogs, small game (squirrels, raccoons, and rabbits), and waterfowl (ducks, geese, snipe, etc.). In addition to being bountiful in huntable game and short drive times, hunters also have the opportunity to participate in Texas Parks & Wildlife Department’s Managed Lands Deer Program (MLDP), allowing for an extended harvesting season beginning sometime in September and running to February.
